这周，珠海航展倒计时开始了！作为中国乃至亚洲最大的航展，两年一度的珠海航展是大家全面了解中国国防发展的平台，也是广大航空爱好者最期盼的盛会。我们也会在现场，欢迎加入我们，一起聊聊航空那些事儿！

今年已是航展的第12届了。本届来自43个国家和地区的参展商共770家，室内10个展厅共10万多平方米，室外展览面积近40万平方米，展览规模再创历史新高。参展的国内外各型飞机超过100架，中国自主研制的新一代隐身战斗机J-20也会到场！

对于首次参加航展的航空新粉（比如Nick哈哈），最期待的当然是在现场观赏一次飞行特技表演。本届航展除中国人民解放军空军“八一”飞行表演队外，沙特阿拉伯皇家空军“沙特之鹰”飞行表演队将献上航展首秀。空军航空大学“红鹰”表演队也将与外国表演队在珠海上空共舞蓝天。航展也是摄影爱好者的天堂，蓝天与飞机更配哦！

Claire: Welcome to 5 minutes with AOPA-China. This is Claire.

Nick: And Nick. Hey, Claire, welcome back. We miss you.

Claire: Yeah, back from a little trip in Switzerland and Italy.

Nick: You just can’t imagine, how much I envy you!!

Claire: Haha, I will take you next time.

Nick: Great, how was your trip?

Claire: Wonderful! Last episode we talked about the seaplane club in Como.Beautiful place. I flew on a Piper in Milan too. Had a look of the city from 600 meters above.A little cloudy that day. But the flight was just wonderful. We had meetings with AOPA Switzerland and AOPA Italy, but I have to get back for the big event.

Nick: Yeah, the big Zhuhai Airshow is coming up next week.

Claire: Indeed, everyone is ready. I read the articles on the preparation of the airshow.

Nick: Right, it is all over the news.

Claire: Hey, why don’t you share some of the astonishing figures?

Nick: There are 770 exhibitors，10 exhibition halls, all types of aircraft, showcase of techniques.

Claire: All the big names in aviation industry will gather there.

Nick: They are from 43 different countries and regions all around the world.

Claire: A very international gathering, then. Is it one of the top five airshows in the world?

Nick: It is, I think. The twelfth time this year. .

Claire: You are younger than Zhuhai Airshow then.

Nick: Oh, No, no. I am one year older than Zhuhai Airshow.

Claire: Cool. Have you ever been to an airshow before?

Nick: No, this is my first time ever. I believe I will have a great time.

Claire: Sure. The biggest airshow in China. You just can’t miss it. J-20 will be there. More than 100 general aviation aircraft will be there. I will be there.

Nick: I am so excited about the airshow for the aerobatic performances. I saw them on the internet, on TV, this time for real.

Claire: Bayi aerobatic team from PLA will be the highlight. The program has not been released yet. But Bayi is set to be the headline act.

Nick: And Saudi Hawk too.

Claire: Yes, hopefully, the debut of Saudi Hawk. I would like to see the mysterious country’s aerobatic team’s performance.

Nick: It is said they are gonna display the kingdom’s emblem in the sky.

Claire: You know what, airshows are paradise for photographers, too.

Nick: Yeah. I heard we had a competition of the most beautiful picture taken during the airshow last time in 2014.

Claire: Yes. Jene won the first prize. Here is her picture.

Nick: I enjoy beautiful pictures a lot. I will bring my not-so-expensive camera to capture the moments.

Claire: Good for you. For some people, Zhuhai Airshow is the place to do business, to demonstrate and to sign contracts. For us, we are more likely to embrace the excitement of aviation，looking at aircraft, taking photos and even chatting with friends.

Nick: I know, people who are so busy with the daily work can have a chance to reunite with their friends and have a lovely chat.

Claire: Meet us. there.

Nick: To be honest, before graduation, I had little experience with general aviation and military aircraft. I’ve learnt a lot about airlines, civil airports, and air traffic control in my curriculum. General aviation is a rather new field to me.

Claire: Unlike other aviation powerhouses in the world, China’s general aviation is still in its infancy. A lot of barriers and a lot of potential.

Nick: The barriers I have heard a lot, like the red tapes, the tight control of low altitude airspace, the safety management and lack of pilots.

Claire: It seems you have got a lot of questions. Go to the airshow and ask around, watch the airshow, and see the models. You may have some of your questions answered.

Nick: Speaking of which, AOPA-China will have our 5 Minutes with AOPA-China meetup on site on the 7th of Nov.

Claire: That is the second day of the airshow.

Nick: We welcome friends old and new to meet us there.
